An Introduction to USJ

Introduction

USJ is a one of the oldest townships in the Klang Valley which is commonly mistaken for Subang Jaya as it is located right next to Subang Jaya in The name is abbreviated from the United Estate Projects (UEP) Subang Jaya. It is situated strategically within the proximity of booming townships such as Bandar Sunway and Subang Jaya. USJ is subdivided into 27 sections named from USJ1 to USJ27 respectively.

Amenities & Facilities

USJ is just a stone throw away from a number of international educational institutions, most notably, SEGI college, Taylor’s University College, INTI College, and Metropolitan College. Not far are Sunway University College and Monash University Malaysia Campus, located conveniently in neighbouring Bandar Sunway; as well as Sri Kuala Lumpur Private School.

USJ has access to some of the finest hospitals in the country including Sime Darby Medical Center (better known as Subang Jaya Medical Centre or SJMC) and Sunway Medical Center. There is a smaller hospital in Taipan USJ called Taipan Medical Centre.

For trendy goods, avid shoppers can hope to find the best deals in the USJ19 City Mall, Sunway Pyramid, Subang Parade, Carrefour, Giant and Mydin Hypermarkets and the Summit. For movie buffs, there are the GSC cineplex at the Summit Square, or you can travel further to nearby Sunway Pyramid or IOI Mall in Puchong.

Of particular note is USJ 10 aka USJ Taipan block of shophouses which have all manner of shops, from fine dining restaurants, clinics, legal firms to banks, pet shops, florists, pharmacies, stationary shops and etc.

Generally speaking, USJ is a star spot that has enjoyed considerable property appreciation due to expanding population and its convenient location. The nearby colleges and universities have also contributed to the increased demand for housing as foreign students flock in for their further studies.

Transportation

It is only 5 minutes drive to Summit USJ, 8 minutes drive to Holiday Villa, 10 minutes drive to KL via NPE, 35 minutes drive to Putrajaya/Cyberjaya and 40 minutes drive to KLIA.

The inbound and outbound road networks of USJ promise convenient access to major townships. USJ has easy access to nearby highways including the Federal Highway, New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), and New Pantai Expressway (NPE). During peak traffic hours, exit points to Persiaran Kewajipan could experience major gridlocks.

For those using public transportation, the KTM train’s Subang Jaya stop on the Sentul-Port Klang route allows passengers to travel all the way to Seremban and Rawang with many stops along the way.
