Do I need to pay for stamp duty even though the title is not issued
Category : Legal and Finance       Location : Any/No Specific Location
I am selling a house which I bought 3 years ago. It is still under master title. The lawyer informed me that both the seller (me) and the purchaser need to pay for the stamp duty. I was told that even though I have sold off the house , the land office is unable to issue the title straight to the new purchaser's name. I consulted a few lawyers friends instead and was told that I won't need to pay for the stamp duty in view that the house does not belong to me and the title will be issued to the new purchaser's name. Kindly please enlighten me. Thanks

Can't find questions posted in iEXPERT.
Category : About iExpert       Location : Any/No Specific Location
Dear iEXPERT I posted 2 similar questions in iEXPERT about 1 week apart recently. As I could not trace the question I posted the first time in IEXPERT, I posted it again this time with a summary "Seeking expert advice on most profitable returns on retrofitting or redeveloping my landed property in Georgetown, Penang". I reproduced the summary in "Search question" and the outcome was 1000 over results. However, my said question was not there. Please advise. Regards

Holding properties before / after convert citizenship to other
Category : Legal and Finance       Location : Johor
Hi Lawyer and Legal Expert, If i am thinking to convert my citizenship to Singapore, should i sell away / transfer name of my existing properties beforehand? what would be the impact and cost if i do it after? What is the relevant charges incur for sell away a property and the computation model ? I am holding 2 properties. (1) Low cost house : sharing name with sibling (a Singapore citizen now). Under the law, low cost house is for poverty, although we inherit from parent, any problem or difficulty in legal process if we sell it off (before / after converted to other countries' citizen). (2) Terrace house : sharing with parent (90%) + me (10%).

Dumping of earth on a government reserved road
Category : Legal and Finance       Location : Negeri Sembilan
I would like to find out whether it is against any law or act for dumping earth on a goverment reserved road. The reason I raise this question here is because somebody lodged a complain and I was issued a letter by the local municipal. The letter only asked me to meet the person who complaint together with an officer from the municipal. Nothing was stated in the letter that I broke any law. Please advise what I should do in the meeting with them. Thanks.
