Introduction to Malaysia My Second Home programme

Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme is promoted by the Malaysian government to allow individuals from all over the world, with certain criteria, to stay in Malaysia as long as possible on a social visit pass with a multiple entry visa.

The Social Visit Pass is initially valid for a period of ten (10) years (depending on the validity of the application’s passport) and is renewable.

Eligibility

It is open to citizens of countries recognised by Malaysia, regardless of race, religion, gender or age. The program allows applicants to bring with them their spouses, parents and children. Foreign spouses of Malaysians and expatriates who wish to retire in Malaysia after the expiry of their Employment Passes are also eligible to apply to stay in Malaysia on this program.

Applicants are allowed to bring their spouses, unmarried children below the age of 21 and parents above the age of 60 as dependants.

Incentives

All approved applicants will enjoy special benefits by the Government for this unique program.
The incentives/benefits included:

1) Applicants will receive a 10 – year social visit pass and multiple-entry visa.
2) After 10 years, it is guaranteed renewable if applicants do not violate the laws & rules of Malaysia.
3) During these 10 years, applicants are free to stay in Malaysia and travel as often as they like.
4) Applicants can import their car or purchase a new car (CKD) tax-free. This is great savings.
5) School-going children will be giving student pass to further their studies at International colleges and Universities.
6) Allowed to employ a maid.
7) Applicants are allowed to invest and actively participate in businesses.
8) For housing loan, applicants can obtain up to 80% as opposed to the normal 60% for foreign applicants (subject to credibility).
9) No need to obtain Foreign Investment Committee (FIC) approval for purchasing properties in Malaysia.
10) Overseas income is not taxable in Malaysia.

Malaysia My Second Home Agents

As a representative of MM2H applicants, agents should provide the best services and sufficient information to the applicants. They should be able to assist the applicants each step of the application process including solving the problems that could be faced by the applicants.

Agents will have to submit, collect and follow up on all the MM2H documents, on behalf of the applicants without the applicants in Malaysia. Agents will also escort the applicants when they need to be presented to the specific department.

Besides that, agents should be kept updated with the changes of the required program and be familiar with the arrangement/configuration in which the applications should be submitted. Beside submitting and collecting the documents, agents are required to provide the sufficient information on other aspects of living in Malaysia such as the property, culture, food and etc.

Since they are many inactive MM2H agents, the applicants are advised to seek the active agents list from the Ministry. Then the applicants can visit the agent’s website or offices before choosing which agent they prefer.

As agents, they are required to include the letters ‘MM2H’ in the company name. Agents of MM2H are required to meet certain financial and other condition before they are licensed by the Ministry.

My Next Home (MM2H) Services

As an approved agent by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia, our professional consultants will be assisting the clients on questions or doubts relating to the programme. We will submit all the required documents on behalf of the applicants to the government authorities and follow through to get the approval. If required and suitable, we will make an appeal if the application is declined.

On top of that, we provide our best services on assisting the applicants with meeting the other requirements such as opening a bank account, obtaining medical insurance and arranging medical examination.

On the other hand, we also assist the applicants to move into Malaysia such as finding a suitable property, recommendation on car dealers, agent broker or anything they request.

Since the inception of MM2H programme by Malaysian Government in 2006, the agents are mostly tour operators and property agents. In an effort to promote MM2H in a more organised and effective manner, My Next Home (MM2H) Sdn Bhd stresses on strategic alliances with other related service organizations which include legal firms, travel agencies, real estate agents and educational service providers.
