Roofing supplier Monier recently launched a road show on its CoolRoof® solution which promises to cool homes up to 10 degrees Celsius. The solution is part of its innovative Energy Efficient Roofing Solutions (E3) which also comprises of MONIER SolarRoof. The Monier CoolRoof® creates a natural airflow that limits heat transfer through the roof to provide a cool and comfortable home. The billion euro German company’s R & D centres in Europe and Malaysia had designed a state-of-the-art simulation software, Roof Physics, which had verified that installing the solution can cool homes by up to 10 degrees Celsius compared to conventional roofs in Malaysia, Monier’s Asia Pacific group CEO Mr Georg Harrasser said. “The cooler temperature can reduce air conditioning usage by up to 60% which can result in monthly savings of up to 30% in electricity bills, ” the CEO added.
