iProperty.com Group Goes Fast and Furious with Akamai
Nov 25, 2010

Australia Securities Exchange-listed IPGA Ltd (ASX:IPP), owner of iProperty.com Group (www.iproperty.com), Asia’s No.1 online property group recently signed an agreement with Akamai Technologies Inc, the world’s leader in content distribution to use its Dynamic Site Accelerator (DSA) technology. This agreement reaffirms the company’s commitment to continually improve iProperty.com’s user experience and engagement, by upgrading its hosting infrastructure to world-class standards.

This upgrade gives iProperty.com’s key websites in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong a boost in performance, and delivers high-speed access to its visitors across the region and the world. By using Akamai’s DSA technology, iProperty.com’s websites are now served by 73,000 servers across Akamai’s global network helping to speed up data transfer to the user's browser with intelligent caching and compression. Site visitors across the world will now benefit from higher download speeds for the sites’ rich content. Offloading dynamic content to the Akamai platform also helps reduce the group’s infrastructure costs and bandwidth requirements.

“Early results since leveraging on the Akamai Dynamic Site Accelerator, are encouraging with loading times on the websites’ improving by more than twice the speed. Now, visitors from all over the world can enjoy the site and its features in its full glory – including its enhanced search and the increasing number on listings found on the sites. Upgrading our hosting infrastructure and deploying technologies such as Akamai’s DSA provides us with the scalability we need for rapid growth and expansion,” said Andy Kelk, CIO of the iProperty.com Group.

Shaun Di Gregorio, CEO of the iProperty.com Group, added that the upgrade marks a major change for iProperty.com as a business. “We are moving from our existing setup to an infrastructure which will allow us to grow our business aggressively and provide a world-class experience to our customers and consumers,” he said.
