The pre-budget 2012 dialogues, which will be held over a period of three months, kicks off on May 10, said Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah.
He said about 300 investors, businessmen and representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) would be involved in the dialogues.
"We want the participants to make projections until 2020. Although it is next year's budget, we want projections that could steer us towards a developed nation.
"The budget is not meant for only one year development but a yearly growth," he told reporters after launching the promotion of a rural library in the Tambun parliamentary constituency at Taman Meru here Sunday.
He said just like previous years, the government would create an economic ecosystem and boost the private sector as the engine of growth in the march towards a high-income nation by 2020.
Ahmad Husni said the first dialogue would be held on May 10 followed by focus group deliberations and end with a meeting involving thinkers like professors. – Bernama
