REDHA welcomes initiative on housing public-private partnership
May 10, 2011
The Real Estate and Housing Developers Association of Malaysia (REDHA) is keen to obtain more details of the public-private-partnership initiative mooted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to make available houses below RM220,000.

"The Prime Minister's commitment to provide land at no cost to private housing developers is a positive sign that the government is serious in making affordable housing more available," said REDHA president Michael Yam.

He said although land cost would be borne by the public sector, under this programme, several others measures must be taken to ensure properties fall within the RM220,000 threshold, especially within the Klang Valley and Penang. - Bernama
