S P Setia Scores Big In The English Premier League
One Of Malaysia's Property Giants Arrive In The EPL Dec 11, 2011
SHAH
ALAM:
S P Setia was spotted at the DW Stadium in the match between Wigan Athletic vs
Arsenal on 3 December 2011. The Setia logo and company website logo was prominently
displayed several times on the stadium’s digital advertising board during the
match.
This is the first time a Malaysian
property developer has ever featured on the English Premier League (EPL) ad
space. S P Setia’s Divisional General Manager of Group Marketing Norhayati
Subali said it was a marriage of two outstanding brands as the Group seeks to
extend its brand presence beyond Malaysian shores.
“The EPL is extremely popular around the
world and more so in Asia where nearly all
football fans are also EPL followers. Based on a general survey of our
Malaysian customers alone we find that almost every family follows the EPL
avidly. The EPL’s fan base also cuts across every age group, every race and is
increasingly non-gender specific” she shared.
The Group’s further research into actual
statistics showed that the EPL has 928 million fans in Asia
alone, making up 41% of its global viewership.
Norhayati said the S P Setia is always
exploring ever more innovative means of reaching its target audience both at
home and abroad.
“Our foray into non-traditional
marketing platforms took off in a big way when we partnered with Firefly to
bring the Setia brand to the skies” she explained.
“The EPL campaign is an extension of
this thought process to go where our customers want to go. Malaysians,
Singaporeans and increasingly even Australians and Vietnamese are truly “gila
bola”. If we can advertise effectively and also bring joy to our customers by
supporting their favourite sport why not?” she said.
More ads are being lined up for upcoming
games featuring Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester
City. Continue to keep a look out for more appearances of S P Setia in the
English Premier League!
