Mines Wellness Hotel Bags Regional Green Award
Feb 23, 2012
KUALA LUMPUR: Mines Wellness Hotel recently clinched the ASEAN Green Hotel Recognition Award 2012 in Manado, Indonesia for the second time in a row.

It was selected as a winner alongside nine other participating hotels from Malaysia, based on the 11 criteria and 25 requirements of the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard.

Some of the criteria and essential requirements include utilisation of green products, cooperation with local community and organisations, energy and water efficiency, noise pollution control and waste water treatment and management.

The hotel started their green practises since 2008 through their green body, Mines Green Circle.

Initiated as an internal drive to promote 3R – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – among staff, it evolved into an act of awareness on conservation and sustainability to its guests as well.

Elated over the win, Eusebius Samm, General Manager of Mines Wellness Hotel, attributes the success of the Hotel to its employees.

“Environmental consciousness is not just a management decision which we need to practice but a way of life for us at the Mines Wellness Hotel.

“Here, we believe that each of us can play a part in keeping the earth green and we attempt to do so every day,” he said.
