Metro Homes Sdn Bhd has been awarded the Best Real Estate Agency Website at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2009 in association with CNBC Arabiya for its website. (www.metrohomes.com)

Established in 1994, Metro Homes is one of the largest estate agency firms in Malaysia, with a team of over 200 real estate negotiators in 11 offices nationwide. Its network covers Klang Valley, Penang and Sabah.

In 1998, its website was developed. From a static webpage, the website evolved into an interactive webpage and incorporates features such as image, video, Google maps, SMS and other tools for its users.

According to director See Kok Loong, the objective of taking part in the competition is to lead the Malaysian real estate agency to compete in the international level. It also hopes to drive other local real estate agencies to further improve on website technology in order to bring in better information flow, which is ultimately in the best interest of the customer (vendors, buyers and others).

“With a better online system in the industry, we can foresee efficient transactions such as co-agency among the real estate agency firm and more resourceful information available online,” he said.

The event is part of the International Property Awards, the world’s most prestigious competition dedicated to finding the best real estate professionals across the globe. According to See, the fact that Metro Homes has won one of these coveted awards, is proof that Malaysia is not only able to compete at this level but also triumph within the highly competitive Asia Pacific property arena.

“The firm is gratified to be recognised for its effort on an international level,” said See. Winners will be invited to attend a gala dinner at the Marina Mandarin in Singapore on 16 July where they will be presented with their awards.
