Although homebuyers are spending more carefully in the slow economic market, there is still demand in the property sector, confirms Malton Bhd.
Sales and marketing director Tracey Lai said: “Our property development in Puchong, for example, is still having good sales where terrace houses recorded good take-up. Our commercial development is also doing quite well.”
According to Lai, the property market was becoming more challenging, with buyers seeking houses worth buying and in good locations. Buyers today are also comparing products offered by developers before deciding.
Lai said Malton’s advantage is the good location of its developments such as the Bukit Rimau township which has a population of 15,000. The developer is also offering new financial packaging strategies to its buyers, in hopes to facilitate their purchase at this time of difficulty.
The Bukit Rimau township, sprawled over 384 acres in Shah Alam, has welcomed Carrefour into the gated and guarded community. The hypermarket company acquired 7.25 acres of freehold commercial land for RM20 million and targets to open a hypermarket by the end of this year.
“Adjacent to the Carrefour site, we have earmarked shop offices to be developed in the near future to complement the hypermarket,” said executive director, Hong Lay Chuan. He added that a new hospital by Columbia Asia Healthcare will also be built in the township.
“We have about 50 acres of commercial land that are still undeveloped here at Bukit Rimau and with the development of the new hypermarket and hospital, our development here at Bukit Rimau is nearly completed,” said Hong.
