Property developer Ceramic Home Tiles Sdn Bhd, developer of the Pearl KLCC project in Kuala Lumpur, has awarded the building works for the project to a top 10 China construction company, Beijing Urban Construction Group Co Ltd.
Located on Jalan Stonor, Pearl KLCC is a 177-unit luxury condominium housed in a single block. The value of the project is estimated at RM280 million. The freehold project takes up 1.77 acres and offers units sized between 3,000 sq ft and 20,000 sq ft. Each floor houses six units, private lift lobby and offers views of KLCC and the Petronas Twin Towers.
Director Ahmad Lazri Long said Beijing Urban Construction was selected based on its world-class expertise. The company was the lead contractor for the 2008 Beijing Olympics main stadium.
The contract signing last week was witnessed by Datuk K. Salman Younis, managing director of Kuwait Finance House (M) Bhd (KFH). KFH is a financier of the project through a special-purpose vehicle company, Flora Bliss Development Sdn Bhd. Meanwhile, Malton Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Domain Resources Sdn Bhd, has been appointed project development manager.
According to assistant president and senior engineer Andy Zhao, Pearl KLCC marks the Chinese company’s first venture into the Malaysian property scene. Apart from Malaysia, it also has a presence in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Middle East and South Africa. Senior project director of Domain Resources, H. K. Tan, said completion of the project is expected by the fourth quarter of 2010.
