Since Guthrie Property Development Holding Bhd's Denai Alam's launch of its first phase in May 2005, the development has continued to generate a strong buying interest.

The RM1.98 billion kampong-style development in Section U16 in Shah Alam is situated on a 1,000-acre freehold site. It offers about 6,630 houses with 10% of the development to be slated for commercial projects.

The first phase comprising 86 two-storey terrace houses with lot sizes of 20ft x 65ft have been sold out and all the units in the second phase comprising 192 units of double-storey terrace house with 22ft x 80ft lot sizes were also fully taken up after launch.

The company has launched 640 double-storey terrace houses, with the construction of 178 units scheduled for completion next month.

Marketing and sales general manager Mohd Johan Shadzli Mohd Daud said, "When we launched the first two phases of Denai Alam, we received very good reponse although we had nothing for buyers to see then. People loved the kampong concept. We wanted to fuse old world charm with a modern neighbourhood."
