UEM World Bhd plans to spend as much as RM4.73 billion over the next five to seven years to finance projects including the country's biggest property development and a highway in Indonesia.
The company plans to spend RM2 billion on real estate projects across the country, which include an RM800 million development at its Bandar Nusajaya project in the Iskandar Development Region, where it plans to build homes, offices, factories and university campuses - making it the country's biggest property development.
In addition to Nusajaya, UEM World is building a government administrative centre in Johor at a cost of RM700 million, said chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Pardas Senin.
A 160-kilometer highway project in Indonesia is also in the works. It will link cities in the west to those in the east on the main island of Java, he added. The three-year construction is pending an agreement with the Indonesian Government on land acquisition and will cost about RM2.28 billion.
