Taman Tun Dr Ismail, RM 1,000,000
TTDI, Kuala Lumpur
Description
Taman Tun Dr. Ismail sits within the borders of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) as its local authority. An upper middle class residential area, it neighbours Bukit Kiara, Bandar Utama, Damansara Utama, Mutiara Damansara, and Sri Hartamas.
The suburb was named after Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister in the early 70s. Taman Tun Dr.Ismail is affectionately called “Taman Tun” or “TTDI”.
The township came to light in 1973, when two established developers, the Urban Development Authority (UDA) and SEA Housing Corp. Sdn Bhd formed a joint venture to slowly transform this rubber estate land into the prime residential address it is today.
TTDI consists mainly of landed properties, condominiums, a few commercial areas and landscaped parks. The self-contained township is also surrounded by schools, banks, eateries, medical centres and religious amenities.
Its Taman Rekreasi Lembah Kiara is an especially popular spot for joggers, jungle trekkers, mountain bikers as well as nature enthusiasts. Landmark buildings in the area include Menara VADS, TTDI Plaza and the NAZA World Auto Mall.
The township is accessible via major highways such as Sprint Highway, Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and Penchala Link, among others. Meanwhile, Jalan Damansara links you to Bangsar, Mont' Kiara, Damansara Heights and the city centre.
The Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC), one of Malaysia's premier country clubs sits within close proximity. Adjacent to this is the Bukit Kiara Golf & Equestrian Country Club Resort, with its wide range of facilities such as indoor and outdoor tennis courts, squash courts, swimming pools, bowling alleys, polo ground and an equestrian stadium. The Royal Selangor Club Kiara Sport Annexe and Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA) are also located next to KLGCC.
Nearby shopping centres include 1Utama, The Curve, Ikano Power Centre and Tropicana City Mall. Residents can also head to Damansara Uptown for wider food choices.
Notable new projects in TTDI include The Greens by Bellworth Developments and Ken TTDI by Ken Holdings. To date, the only means of public transportation to and within the area is either by bus or taxi. However, under the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project, 2 stations will be built servicing the Sungai Buloh-Kajang line.
