F&N PROPERTIES SIGNS LEASE AGREEMENT WITH
HELP UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
Kuala Lumpur, – ZON.e@Fraser Business Park, a RM350 million fully integrated, multifunctional hub designed to be the largest electronic gaming and multi media centre in the region, will also boast the city campus of HELP University College with a student population pass through of up to 5,000 when completed by 2009.
This follows the signing of a lease agreement between Brampton Holdings Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of F&N Holdings Berhad and HELP University College recently. The agreement was formalised between Cheah Hong Chong, General Manager of F&N Properties and Dr Paul Chan, President of HELP University College.
Under the terms of the agreement, Brampton Holdings Sdn Bhd will lease 222,000 sq ft of the Tutorial College to HELP to house the new campus for a 15-year period. The campus facilities will include lecture theatres, training, auditorium, seminar and conference facilities, display and exhibition areas, 950-room hostel, multipurpose gymnasium, learning resource centre and various retail outlets.
The main feature of HELP’s City Campus will be its comprehensive use of e-learning technology for teaching, learning and research.
“With the establishment of HELP’s City Campus, we look forward to an influx of vibrant educational activities at ZON.e@Fraser Business Park, which is envisaged to be a self-contained city-within-a-city with a live-in population of over 2,000 people, brimming with unique features and amenities that meet every need of the next generation of e-citizens,” said Cheah

Planned to become the region’s first and largest purpose-built IT hub, ZON.e@Fraser Business Park will offer e-centric retail, e-gaming and entertainment, IT related e-business, educational/hostel and hotelfacilities.
Elaborating on the progress of the development, Cheah said, “Over 92 per cent of the retail outlets on Level 1 catering for various businesses, including F&B, have been sold while the kiosks on Level 2 which are tailor-made for ICT related businesses have been fully taken up to-date. This confirms the fact that pent-up demand from small business owners of ICT products and services has indeed been very strong. The 251 serviced apartments, have also been fully sold. As for the 92,000 sq ft Techno Centre, it has been purchased by a foreign investor who has plans to turn it into a full-fledged themed mall.”

According to Cheah the public response to the project is a resounding vote of confidence for its unique concept which is envisaged as a dedicated, completely wired e-zone catering to the entire spectrum of e and IT-related enterprises.
Fraser Business Park’s first phase, comprising 80 shop/office units, launched in early 2004 with a gross sales value of RM182 million, was handed over in December 2006. It has since witnessed a healthy growth of businesses such as F&B outlets, banking institution, travel agency, healthcare, legal services, telecommunication, fashion outlet,home improvement and fashion boutique.
“To-date 50 per cent of the units at Fraser Business Park Phase 1 have been occupied either by owners or tenants. The moving-in rate is very encouraging since F&N’s Corporate HQ moved back to Fraser Business Park in the middle of 2007. Owners of Phase 1 have also been very selective in choosing their tenants in ensuring the right business environment for Fraser Business Park. We are indeed very grateful for their understanding.
