The developer of Pelangi Damansara, Metro Kajang Holdings, was incorporated in 1979 under the name of Srijang Bena. It is an investment holding company with 49 subsidiaries and 1 associate company. The biggest drawback is insufficient parking space available for the resident. It is a common view everyday to see residents’ cars parked on the roadside every single day and night. Besides that, it is also a common view to see the policemen summoning those cars in the morning and afternoon, while MBPJ officers take their duty at night.
Not only that, the whole enclave is crowded with high-rise residential and commercial buildings which create high density in the area. There are low-cost apartments and Pelangi Square situated right across the street, and Pelangi Sentral serviced apartment is currently under development right besides it. Furthermore, there is a new bungalow development right beside it. There is plenty more residential along Persiaran Surian towards Kota Damansara.
Traffic congestion in the surrounding roads is bad at most times. This is due to most residents of the whole massive development of Kota Damansara relying on Persiaran Surian for access. Besides the density factor, the congestion is also due to the illegal parking on the roadside.
Pelangi Damansara is situated near to the 33 kV TNB high tension cables. It exposes the residents residents towards the risk of radiation hazard from the electromagnetic field (EMF) generated by the power lines. The radiation hazard is associated with numerous health diseases including brain tumour, cancer and migraine. The nearest blocks to the cables are Block D and E, which facing Bandar Utama 9-hole Golf Course.
Investment wise, the price of Pelangi Damansara has not escalated much in years, but its rental rate has hiked a little bit. There are too many drawbacks possessed, and some residents claimed that they rather stay at low-cost flats nearby or Flora Damansara for better living experience.
